It looks like the ladies aren’t too chatty on the internet. Last week was the first time I saw them play an entire match, and I saw some things that amazed me.

And one of those things was good. Monika got a high ton (151 points with three darts)! And then that bully on the other team won the game on the next turn. We all booed him.

We had a practice session on Thursday, and I could see a lot of improvement. We’ll both be playing at Tiernan’s again next Tuesday, so we’ll see how the new habits work out under the pressure of league play.

    There! I’ve broken the ice.

Thank you Mike! The ladies would all like to thank you for putting our stats together each week…and that HASN’T been an easy task!!!

Thank you to Mike and Red for helping us out on Thursday night. I’m surprise either of you could move your arms the next day. We’re looking forward to implementing all our new skills we acquired during our match tonight.

Well, all I can say is that the stats don’t reflect what I saw when the ladies played last Tuesday. Scotty’s 501 score went up dramatically, but otherwise the numbers don’t show a change. I think what’s going on is that the team just needs to practice.

You can up your 501 scores two or three points per dart, and your cricket score a half a mark per round, and have that improvement wiped out if it takes you a few rounds to end the game. Hitting a specific number–or combination of numbers–to end a 501 game, and hitting the bullseye to finish a cricket game, is not easy. It takes practice, and it will come. And it will come easier now that you have solid fundamentals to build on.

And it was exciting to have the match come down to the final game, wasn’t it?
